Round Eleven of the Torneo 2015 is understandably dominated by the season’s first superclásico but there was also a busy schedule on Saturday which saw three of chasing pack all pick up points. San Lorenzo were able to put their Copa Libertadores disappointment behind them with a late win over Vélez in the Nuevo Gasómetro. Matías Caruzzo’s header seven minutes from time put Los Cuervos level with Boca and River before their Sunday showdown.

Racing’s strong home form continued as La Academia picked up their third consecutive 2-0 win in the Cilindro and with the three points moved up sixth. Lanús looked as though they might frustrate Diego Cocca’s reigning champions but with a little over fifteen minutes remaining Gustavo Bou managed to squeeze his fourth of the season inside Fernando Monetti’s near post. Lautaro Acosta was sent off late on and in stoppage time, Yonathan Cabral poked in a second to ensure victory for Racing.

Rosario Central have undoubtedly seen their momentum decrease but Saturday night’s 1-1 draw with Huracán in the Gigante de Arroyito still maintained their unbeaten start to the season and kept them in fourth, just a point behind the leaders. Agustín Torassa just about gave El Globo the lead from the penalty spot on the brink of half time but Eduardo Coudet’s side displayed what is now becoming an almost trademark resiliance after the break. Cristian Villagra fired Central level just five minutes into the second period but despite Huracán having Edson Puch sent off the home side were unable to snatch all three points. It is a fifth draw in the last six of Central, who are now finding their failure to keep clean sheets a burden in their quest to challenge the leaders.

San Lorenzo  1 – 0  Vélez Sarsfield

Racing Club  2 – 0  Lanús

Rosario Central  1 -1   Huracán
