Belgrano’s fine run continued on Sunday afternoon as they ran out deserved 2-0 winners over second-bottom Arsenal. Arsenal’s new manager, the relegation escape expert, Caruso Lombardi was watching from the stands and he will know he has his work cut out with this current crop of Arsenal players. That said, a visit to Córdoba is never an easy task and Ricardo Zielinski’s side are on an incredible run at present. Goals early in both halves from the impressive pair of Lucas Zelarayán and Emiliano Rigoni gave Belgrano another win and leave them just two points behind Boca at the top.
Banfield are also enjoying a fine 2015 and they too celebrated a straight-forward victory yesterday. Matías Almeyda’s side travelled south to Mar del Plata to face an Aldosivi side who have perhaps surprised a few people this season already but who on this occasion looked every bit a relegation endangered side. Mauricio Cuero opened the scoring with a measured lob and then turned provider after an excellent run down the left finished with a pass into Ricardo Noir, who slotted in the second. Fabián Noguera headed a third after half time to wrap up all three points and keep Banfield up in the lofty position of eighth.
Atlético Rafaela celebrated their first victory of the season last time out but they were unable to follow it up in San Juan after Pablo Vitti’s late header pegged them back and earned San Martín a valuable point. Walter Serrano had poked Rafaela into a first half lead but La Crema could not hold on to all three points leaving them still languishing down in 26th.
