Following the news of the tragic death of 21-year-old Emanuel Ortega, AFA president Luis Segura has announced that ALL Argentine football will be postponed this weekend. Speaking at the AFA headquarters, Segura said:

“I feel great sadness and dismay. I have been following the situation since it occurred being kept informed by those close. Although it was complicated we had maintained hope but sadly it ended as we know.”

“I believe that we must not play out of respect. Suspending the fixtures is the least that we can do and if there is something more then we will do it.”

A further announcement is expected later regarding when those matches that were scheduled to be played this weekend will be played.
