The scoreline flatters San Lorenzo but nonetheless a 3-0 win over a committed Sarmiento side to go joint top of the league is to be commended. It was the visitors who had been the better side for most of the first half but with a minute on the clock after the break Héctor Villalba tapped Los Cuervos in front. Sarmiento remained in the match but Martín Cauterruccio added two late goals to give the appearance of a far more emphatic victory.
Finally, Estudiantes produced a good second half performance to overturn Rodrigo Depetris’ scrappy early goal. Atlético Rafaela still looked like a side with just one league win to their name and well taken goals from Guido Carrillo and Diego Vera gave Diego Milito’s side a hard fought three points as they continue to climb back up the table.
