Current Copa Argentina champions, Huracán crashed out of this year’s competition last night at the hands of Primera B Nacional side Independiente Rivadavia. The first half of El Globo’s season was a disappointment after the toll of a Copa Libertadores exit left them in the midst of a relegation battle in the Primera. After last season’s success in the Copa Argentina victory here could have provided a welcome boost but another limp display was punished by Juan Pablo Pereyra’s second half goal. It proved enough to dump out the holders and it will be Independiente that will play Quilmes in the last 32.
