La Liga outfit Villarreal have made a healthy profit on Luciano Vietto in this transfer window; the last time they raided the Argentine Primera for a talented young attacker. Following such a successful piece of business El Submarino Amarilla look set to return to South America and sign Huracán and Argentina under-20 forward, Cristián Espinoza.
It is understood that Huracán had already rejected an offer from Villarreal of €4millionfor80% ownership and instead have held out for the full €5 million which Espinoza’s contract demanded. The Spanish club have reportedly now met that price and will try to conclude the deal as soon as possible.
Espinoza has been with El Globo for almost his entire life and since making his first team debut in 2013 whilst playing in the Nacional B he has continued to impress with his pacy displays on the right of attack. More recently Espinoza has been with the Argentina under-20s and his direct style of play was a tremendous asset to Humberto Grondona’s side en route to winning the South American Championship.
Injury since then has seen his playing time with Huracán limited but it is still no surprise that European sides have taken an interest. Espinoza has drawn comparisons to Ángel Di María due to his natural running ability and although operating on the opposite flank, the youngster enjoys playing out wide but with the threat of running inside.
