A remarkable match in La Bombonera saw Boca Juniors lose for the third time this season and the first time since Carlos Tevez’s return after Unión took full advantage of Agustín Orión’s early red card to record a famous 4-3 victory. When Jonathan Calleri pounced on some poor defending to put Boca in front after only seven minutes it looked as though the league leaders were in for another easy evening but when Agustín Orión almost cut Lucas Gamba in half as he ran clear on goal it provided the game changing moment. Orión was sent off, Ignacio Malcorra slotted home the resulting penalty and with Boca still reeling Mauricio Martínez put the visitors in front after a mistake by Daniel Díaz.

It took less than a minute of the second half for Carlos Tevez to score an equaliser but despite still dominating possession with a man less, Unión were a threat. Another defensive lapse allowed Emanuel Britos to fire Unión back in front but the ten men of Boca came back once again, Jonathan Calleri diving to head his second of the game. In the circumstances it appeared Boca had salvaged a decent point but two minutes into stoppage time Lucas Gamba headed a winner to bring to an end a hugely entertaining and very surprising match. Boca missed the chance to take the outright lead at the top of the table and instead remain locked with San Lorenzo on 40 points.

Earlier in Garupá, Crucero del Norte and Huracán did their best to rival the excitement from La Bombonera as El Globo came from three down with twenty minutes remaining to claim an unlikely point. A towering header and a neat flicked finish from Gabriel Ávalos gave Crucero an early lead and when Carlos Arano blasted the ball into the top corner of his own net it looked like another bad day at the office for Huracán. However, El Globo youngster Cristian Espinoza pulled one back setting up a thrilling fight back. Agustín Torassa further reduced the deficit with five minutes remaining and in stoppage time, Espinoza drilled in the equaliser. Crucero del Norte have already proved to be a tough nut to crack in Garupá and so this is certainly a point gained for Huracán.

Crucero del Norte  3 – 3  Huracán

Boca Juniors  3 – 4  Unión
