Instituto stunned San Lorenzo when Pablo Magnín gave the Nacional B side an early lead in San Juan but goals from Emanuel Más and a wonderfully taken winner by Martín Cauteruccio put Los Cuervos into the last 16.
Earlier, in the stadium of Arsenal, Ferro Carril Oeste celebrated reaching the last 16 after a penalty victory against Los Andes. Ricardo Vera headed Los Andes in front but a crazy second half saw the sides trade goals before Pablo Frontini headed an injury time equaliser for Ferro and forced spotkicks. Los Andes failed to hold their nerve and a series of misses allowed Ferro to claim victory and set up a last 16 tie with Rosario Central.
