When you are in desperate need of a win, a visit of Crucero del Norte is just what is needed. The bus company from Misiones have lost every single away fixture this season but an improved showing last time out against San Lorenzo may have had Néstor Gorosito a little worried, particularly as his Argentinos Juniors side were in the middle of a torrid run of form. Inspired by 23-year-old Colombian, Reinaldo Lenis, Los Bichos allayed any pre-match concerns and were finally able to celebrate a victory after 8 Primera matches.
Lenis provided the catalyst for the opening goal as his sprinted in behind the Crucero del Norte defence and caused the panic that led goalkeeper Germán Caffa to palm the ball against defender Daniel Pérez and inadvertantly into the net.
That goal proved to be the difference for much of the game but with fifteen minutes remaining, Lenis once more managed to get the wrong side of the defence and after rounding Caffa, the Colombian calmly slotted in the second. A minute later, Lenis jinked his way into the Crucero penalty area and after being scythed down it allowed Lautaro Rinaldi the opportunity to add a third from the spot.
Lenis’ pace was too much for the boys from Garupá and to wrap up an emphatic victory, he broke clear to score the fourth and conclude what was a match winning performance.
