Estudiantes became the final side into the 2015 Copa Argentina quarter-finals last night with a tense penalty victory against Quilmes in Lanús’ stadium. Alexis Canelo sensationally gave Los Cerveceros the lead just before the half hour mark with a thunderous strike from 30 yards but Estudiantes deservedly found a way back into the game after half-time. A superb solo run from right-back Leonardo Jara had the Quilmes defence on the back foot and after slipping the ball through to the unmarked Carlos Auzqui, the striker tucked the ball past Walter Benítez. With the scores level the match went to penalties and Estudiantes keeper, Hilario Navarro proved to be the difference. Three wonderful saves handed El Pincha the victory and set up a quarter-final tie against Rosario Central.

Estudiantes  1 – 1  Quilmes (3-1 on penalties)
