There is no sign of Rosario Central’s title challenge losing momentum and on Sunday afternoon in the Gigante de Arroyito, Eduardo Coudet’s side swept aside Gimnasia to keep on the heels of Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo. Nery Domínguez thumped the home side in front from distance and two Marco Ruben goals either side of Marcelo Larrondo’s penalty completed a comfortable afternoon’s work. Ruben has 18 league goals this season and Central are in fine form ahead of clashes with both San Lorenzo and Boca.
Another in form side are Quilmes, who are yet to lose since the appointment of Facundo Sava. Nine without defeat and Claudio Bieler finding the net once again meant that Los Cerveceros had enough to edge past Defensa y Justica in Florencio Sola.
Eduardo Domínguez is also yet to lose as Huracán boss but on Sunday afternoon, El Globo recorded a fifth draw in six matches. Vélez Sarsfield were the latest side to frustrate them as the game ended goalless.
