The Racing supporters may not have Diego Milito for too much longer but the Cilindro let their hero know how highly they think of him as their inspirational captain scored twice in a routine 3-0 win against Crucero del Norte. The visitors were never likely to get anything from an away match but with this latest defeat, the bus company slide back into the Nacional B with a 100% record – fifteen matches on the road and fifteen defeats. Two rather scrappy goals either side of half-time from Milito and Leandro Grimi put Racing in charge and El Príncipe’s well taken second completed a comfortable night’s work for La Academia.

In Rosario, Newell’s Old Boys came within a couple of minutes of victory against Lanús but were undone by a fabulous injury-time free-kick by Víctor Ayala. Ignacio Scocco looked to have won it when he fired the home side in front midway through the second half but when Diego Mateo saw red for a mistimed challenge on the edge of the penalty area it handed Ayala the chance to steal a point. His fine strike left Ezequiel Unsain with no chance and ensured a share of the points.

Racing Club  3 – 0  Crucero del Norte

Newell’s Old Boys  1 – 1  Lanús
