The 2015 campaign of Lanús has been largely disappointing but one of the few players to emerge with any credit is Lautaro Acosta, who once more proved just how vital he is to El Granate with a virtuoso performance against Sarmiento. The 27-year-old was given some rough treatment from the visitors as he has been dealt throughout the season but that did not prevent Laucha from scoring the opener. Nicolás Aguirre threaded a pass into his path and Acosta deftly flicked the ball past César Rigamonti to separate the sides. Diego Chávez equalised after the break for Sarmiento with a superb driving run and thunderous finish but parity lasted just minutes as Acosta was scythed down in the box and Román Martínez slotted in the winner from the penalty spot. Lanús have their place in the Copa Sudamericana playoffs but will know that this season has not been good enough compared to the standard they set themselves in recent years.
