An under-strength Boca side travelled to México for a friendly to mark the reopening of the Estadio Cuauhtémoc against Liga MX side Puebla and were undone by a goal from Argentine striker, Matías Alustiza. The hosts were the better side and it was little surprise when Alustiza headed the opener after half-time. The former Chacarita Juniors player had the chance to double the lead after Alexís Rolín was sent off in the process of conceding a penalty for an elbow but the well-travelled veteran blasted the spot-kick wide. Boca’s ten men could not find an equaliser and will now travel back to Argentina for some scheduled friendlies in Catamarca and Resistencia. Centre-forward Jonathan Calleri played 45 minutes in Puebla and there is some speculation that it could be his last appearance in the blue and gold.
