Tigre always seem to be a difficult side to predict and so it proved on Thursday afternoon when despite having home advantage for their Copa Sudamericana playoff, they were dumped out of the competition by Colón. Facundo Callejo’s diving header after only ten minutes gave the visitors the lead and although Jorge Rodríguez’s wonderful free-kick brought Tigre level shortly after half-time, parity didn’t last long. Mauricio Sperduti’s cut back from the right was fired home by Pablo Ledesma and with time remaining, the rejuvenated Alan Ruíz, on loan from San Lorenzo, blasted in a scorching long range free kick. There was time for Braian Romero to add a well taken fourth and Tigre’s capitulation was complete. Los Sabaleros take their place in the finals and are a step closer to Copa Sudamericana qualification.
