Lanús remain top of Zona 2 and unbeaten but for the first time this season were denied victory after Javier Toledo’s powerful header earned San Martín a point in San Juan. The home side had taken the lead after Emanuel Dening rifled the ball low past Fernando Monetti midway through the first half but a fabulous volley from Nicolás Aguirre drew Lanús level before the break. Pepe Sand’s header on the hour mark, his sixth goal of the season, gave Jorge Almirón’s side a now familiar lead but it didn’t last long and Toledo ensured a share of the points.
Victory leaves Lanús top of Zona 2, a point above newly promoted Atlético Tucumán, after El Decano eased past the throughly dreadful Atlético Rafaela. Full back Nicolás Romat’s cross from the right somehow deceived Germán Montoya and beat the goalkeeper at his near post and before half time the lead was doubled when Luis Miguel Rodríguez headed a second. Cristian Menéndez tapped in a third after an hour to ensure victory and give the home side a mightily impressive four wins from five Primera matches. The less said about La Crema the better.
