After Deportivo Morón upset Newell’s Old Boys on Wednesday, Arsenal de Sarandí were all too aware of the dangers of facing Primera B side Defensores de Belgrano in the Copa Argentina.

Defe certainly made it hard work for Arsenal but Sergio Rondina’s side did enough to progress to the last 16 and set up a clash with River Plate.

Claudio Corvalán’s first half volley put Arsenal in front but Lucas Buono nodded in an equaliser five minutes after the break to set up a nervy second half.

Defensores contined to frustrate Arsenal but with less than fifteen minute remaining Franco Frangapane’s heavily deflected shot left Albano Anconetani with no chance.
