Atlético Madrid’s poor start to the season is likely to already have Diego Simeone in a bad mood but according to reports in Italy, the Argentine coach had €10,000 stolen from his hotel room when visiting his son Giovanni, who recently completed a move to Serie A side Genoa.
The incident reportedly took place on August 22nd while the two were having dinner in Genoa following Giovanni’s €3 million transfer from River Plate to Genoa.
According to the Genoa Post, Italian police are investigating the incident and suspect hotel staff being involved given there were no signs of forced entry at the room.
Diego Simeone allegedly had €10,000 in a suitcase in the room and this was stolen while the former Argentina international ate at a nearby restaurant.
