A day later than scheduled after a torrential downpour on Monday evening, Atlético Tucumán and Unión brought round nine to a close and it was the visitors to the Estadio Monumental Presidente José Fierro who left the happier after Bruno Pittón salvaged a point.
Atlético have struggled to reproduce their form of the Transición but should have earned all three points from Unión’s visit on Tuesday. Fernando Zampedri headed El Decano ahead before half time but unable to find a second, Juan Manuel Azconzábal’s side were punished when Bruno Pittón equalised midway through the first half.
The point leaves both sides firmly in midtable and well clear of the relegation zone in the descenso table.
