Defeat to Talleres last time out doesn’t appear to have adversely affected Patronato’s rediscovered form too much and on Monday evening, Rubén Forestello’s side made it four wins from five, with a 3-0 win over San Martín.
Full-back Lucas Márquez slid in the opening goal with less than quarter of an hour on the clock and before the break, Matías Quiroga made it two when he sprang the offside trap to round Luis Ardente.
San Martín enjoyed the majority of possession but when Sebastián Bértoli added a third from the penalty spot minutes after half time, the contest was over. Both sides ended the match with ten men after Marcos Minetti and Juan Mattia were shown second yellow cards but it made no difference.
Earlier in Bahía Blanca, Gimnasia were unable to follow up their midweek Copa Argentina success and were left frustrated by Olimpo in a goalless draw. The point does little to help the home side who remain in the bottom four in the descenso table.
