Lucas Pratto may have come at a price but there was no doubting the quality that São Paulo were buying when they raided Atlético Mineiro for the Argentina international. The 28-year-old made his debut on Saturday and it took nine minutes for Pratto to open his account.
The former Vélez centre-forward rose highest to powerfully head in a deflected cross from the right but despite São Paulo doubling their lead after half time, a late comeback by Mirassol resulted in a 2-2 draw.
It may only have been a point for São Paulo but Rogério Ceni’s side remain top of group B in the Campeonato Paulista.
