This year’s Copa Argentina has already thrown up a few upsets but none greater than Gimnasia’s 1-0 defeat to Federal A side Defensores de Belgrano de Villa Ramallo on Friday evening.

With the tie goalless, heading towards penalties Pablo Saucedo’s stunning 30-yard volley won it for El Elefante.

Gimnasia have lost six of their last seven league matches and have now been dealt an even greater blow by lower league opposition.

Defensores de Belgrano de Villa Ramallo will play Primera side Belgrano in the last 32.
