Rosario Central came from two-down and scored an injury time equaliser with ten men to claim an exciting point from the visit of Talleres on Tuesday night.
Paolo Montero’s side are usually well-drilled but found themselves two-down after uncharacteristically sloppy defending was punished by goals from Jonathan Menéndez and Javier Gandolfi.
Talleres should probably have been even further ahead but Mauricio Martínez pulled a goal back before Teo Gutiérrez equalised from the spot after a highly dubious penalty in first half stoppage time.
Gutiérrez was sent off in the 65th minute for a second bookable offence and when so when Victorio Ramis poked the visitors back in front it looked likely to be the winner. However, a 91st minute scramble in the Talleres six-yard box saw José Leguizamón salvage a point for El Canalla.
A little earlier in La Plata, Gimnasia recorded a second consecutive win to climb closer to the Copa Sudamericana qualification places with victory over San Martín.
Facundo Barceló unfortunately headed into his own net to gift El Lobo an early lead and after half an hour Franco Niell rifled in a second.
