Sebastián Driussi enjoyed a prolific last year up front for River Plate and the 21-year-old has hit the ground running in Russia with a second half double to give Zenit St. Petersburg a 2-1 victory over Rubin Kazan.

With seventeen goals in the Argentine Primera last season there was no doubting Driussi’s goal scoring ability and with Roberto Mancini’s side trailing the visitors at the break, it was the River graduate who proved to be the match winner.

The first a routine tap in from close range after Aleksandr Kokorin headed back across goal levelled the match but in stoppage time an outstanding volley handed Zenit all three points and for Driussi two goals on his first start.

In China, Ezequiel Lavezzi scored another brace for Hebei China Fortune to take his season tally to nine but couldn’t prevent his side slumping to defeat against Guizhou Zhicheng.

And in the United States, Héctor Villalba snatched a win for Tata Martino’s Atlanta United with a stunning long range effort against Orlando City.

With five minutes from time the former San Lorenzo youngster let fly from 30 yards and rifled the ball into the top corner.
