It is fair to say Argentina saw nothing near the best of Paulo Dybala during the international break but back in action for Juventus on Saturday and the 23-year-old helped the Bianconeri to a 3-0 win over Chievo.
Dybala’s outstanding solo effort wrapped up the victory in the 83rd minute after a first half Perparim Hetemaj own-goal and an emphatic Gonzalo Higuaín finish.
Coming off the bench around the hour mark after a disappointing week with Argentina, Dybala proved inspirational with a hand in Higuaín’s goal before scoring his own
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was full of praise for the young Argentine: “Dybala is improving a great deal and has everything it takes to become, along with Neymar after Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi, one of the best players in the world.”
Dybala will be hoping that his continued excellence in black and white will see Jorge Sampaoli keep faith in him ahead of October’s vital World Cup qualifiers while teammate Gonzalo Higuaín is aiming for a recall as the goals continue to flow in Serie A.
