Lanús may have had the weekend off to focus on the Copa Libertadores final but there was no shortage of drama from Round Ten’s remaining thirteen fixtures. Fresh from their first dropped points of the season leaders Boca Juniors fell to a second defeat and with San Lorenzo and Unión both winning, the champions advantage is now only three points.
Elsewhere, Independiente snatched victory in the Clásico de Avellaneda despite resting players for the upcoming Copa Sudamericana semi final and having Rodrigo Moreira sent off in the first half. The result for Racing has prompted Diego Cocca to resign.
And at the foot of the descenso, Vélez Sarsfield were the big winners after defeating rivals Olimpo but there were also important victories for Huracán and Temperley.
