Two goals in seven second half minutes gave Huracán a preseason victory over San Lorenzo in Mar del Plata on Tuesday.
Despite not doing a great deal of business in the transfer market, Huracán selected a full strength side for the clásico while Claudio Biaggio opted to rest many of his San Lorenzo first eleven and that perhaps was enough to give El Globo the advantage.
A lacklustre first half of few real chances was eventually broken shortly after half time when Hugo Nervo headed in from a corner five minutes after half time.
And minutes later, Marcos Senesi’s clumsy challenge on Ignacio Pussetto gifted Huracán a penalty which Mauro Bogado rifled past Sebastián Torrico.
Given the players missing and the lack of signings so far, there is little that can be read into San Lorenzo’s defeat and Biaggio will still be hoping to maintain a Superliga title challenge.
