After winning 2-0 in Venezuela last month, Colón already had a foot in the next round of the Copa Sudamericana but still had to complete the job on Tuesday evening in Santa Fe and thanks to captain Germán Conti, El Sabalero did just that.
Eduardo Domínguez’s side were dominant from kick off and as Zamora struggled to contain their hosts, Colón came closer to extending their first leg lead.
Matías Fritzler curled a shot against the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area and with the final ball lacking and some wayward finishing, Zamora were able to hold on until 20 minutes from time
With Colón’s attack unable to find a way through, captain Germán Conti, up for a corner from centre-back flicked in Alan Ruiz’s corner from the right and it proved enough to claim victory.
Two clean sheets and a convincing win against Zamora, Colón move on in the Copa Sudamericana and despite not being the most attractive side, few will fancy taking on Eduardo Domínguez’s side.
