The importance of three consecutive injury-time goals in the previous rounds has most likely handed Boca Juniors the title but the defending champions couldn’t do it again on Saturday as they slumped to defeat against Defensa y Justicia in La Bombonera.
Lisandro Magallán’s blunder gifted El Halcón a first ever win over Boca but while defeat could have reignited the title race, the competition also faltered.
San Lorenzo could have closed to within five points following their midweek win over Independiente but were instead dealt an embarrassing 5-0 defeat by a rampant Godoy Cruz side in the Nuevo Gasómetro.

Diego Dabove’s in-form side spearheaded by Superliga leading scorer Santiago Garcia are now second after Talleres also slipped up.
Not through lack of trying though as La T dominated large parts of their match against Independiente on Sunday but couldn’t find a way past an inspired Martín Campaña and were ultimately beaten 2-0.
El Rojo climbed back into the Copa Libertadores spots with the victory and remained there as Racing Club also succumbed to an outstanding goalkeeping display. La Academia had the better of River Plate in a rainy Cilindro but were left frustrated by Argentina hopeful Franco Armani before seeing Rafael Santos Borré and Exequiel Palacios win it for Los Millonarios.
Huracán and Argentinos Juniors strengthened their hopes of Sudamericana spots with wins over San Martín and Unión respectively but competition remains fierce.
The weekend’s controversy came in Santa Fe, where Colón’s barra bravas saw that their game against Vélez was abandoned by throwing a series of explosives onto the pitch.
And referees were in the spotlight after Lautaro Acosta branded Facundo Tello a ‘disaster’ for the late penalty that handed Temperley a draw against Lanús and Estudiantes raged at World Cup official Nestor Pitana for his part in two Chacarita Juniors goals.
So, in case you missed any of the action, here are all the games, all the goals and how the table looks after round twenty two…

#TNTSports | Era obvio: segunda bomba de estruendo que arroja la hinchada de #Colón, esta vez mucho más cerca de Rigamonti. El arquero de #Vélez queda aturdido. El árbitro Merlos paró el partido para hablar con la policía.
