Boca Juniors claimed their first win of this years tournament with an important victory away to Barcelona of Ecuador. After losing at home to Toluca, a tricky away fixture in Ecuador was not ideal but Boca will be relieved that they are now up and running ahead of the clash with Nacional. Boca took the lead on the hour mark when Juan Manuel Martinez poked home a knockdown and then minutes later Claudio Perez headed Boca two infront. In injury time, Clemente Rodriguez clipped Juan Paredes to concede a penalty which was confidently put away by Michael Arroyo but Boca held on for the win. The points leave Boca level with Toluca and a point behind Nacional.
