Boca fans didn’t allow Ramon Diaz and his River side forget about their relegation in 2011

La Bombonera hosted this tournament’s super clasico and the result was a 1-1 draw between Argentina’s greatest rivals – Boca Juniors and River Plate. River dominated the first half and needed just 45 seconds to take the lead, Manuel Lanzini heading home unmarked to score the fastest ever super clasico goal. Boca punished River for wasting their dominance shortly before half time when Santiago Silva finished neatly after good work from Walter Erviti. The second half never really got going despite Boca being in the ascendency and was more notable for Ramon Diaz being sent from the River dug out and a rather lengthy stoppage due to Boca’s fans climbing the fences and throwing fire crackers. Earlier, in the day Independiente produced another good performance to record back to back wins and raise hope that they may be able to avoid relegation. Paraguayan, Adrian Fernandez scored both the goals in their 2-0 victory over Tigre, the first after only 8 minutes a superb, instinctive lob from all of 45 yards. In the late kickoff, Atletico Rafaela were helped by some generous refereeing to a 2-1 win over San Martin. The home side were trailing to a first half goal from Lucas Landa and were down to 10 men but two penalties in the last 1o minutes, plus another two red cards saw Rafaela take the points.
