Trailing 1-0 from the first leg in Cordoba, Velez Sarfield came back to win and take their place in the last 16 of the Copa Sudamericana. Velez produced one of their best performances in recent times and the opening goal was a product of some fine passing and movement. Agustin Allione was eventually released down the left following a flowing one-touch move and his cutback was swept home by Ezequiel Rescaldani. It was Allione again, the protaganist in the decisive second. Again, down the right he was tugged back as he made his way into the box and Lucas Pratto converted the penalty. Velez move on to face La Equidad of Colombia.
