Lanus thrash Argentinos Juniors to move second in the table

Argentinos Juniors‘ fine start to the season came crashing back to earth last night as they were thrashed 4-0 in Lanus. Caruso Lombardi’s normally tight defence was ruthlessly exposed by Lanus’ recent signings. Goals from ex-Boca trio, Lauturo Acosta, Santiago Silva and a thunderbolt from Leandro Somoza were capped off by Belgrano signing, Lucas Melano. Later, in Cordoba, Velez Sarsfield were unable to build on their impressive 3 goal win over Newell’s last weekend as they were humbled by Belgrano.
