Argentina Coach, Alejandro Sabella confirmed the side that will face Peru tomorrow night in the Estadio Monumental. As expected, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Rodrigo Palacios replace the injured Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain as Sabella sets out his strongest side in the circumstances.

Argentina sit top of the qualification table and have qualification already secured but Alejandro Sabella spoke today of his sides focus and has still selected a strong side for the game with Peru tomorrow night.

All week there have been nothing but positive sounds coming out of the training centre in Ezieza, with both Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria commenting on the unity among the group. Today, Sabella appeared calm and stressed that Argentina are still focused on winning these upcoming games.

The coach admitted that he couldn’t “say it was a complicated context because we have already qualified for the World Cup,” but he maintained that, “the tranquility will not remove the focus.”

Sabella also discussed the surprise call ups for Leandro Somoza and Gabriel Mercado. He explained, “the lack of Gago and the yellow card for Biglia made me lean towards Somoza because he has international experience and has played in cup competitions, and the same goes for Mercado.”

The eleven to face Peru will be as expected: Sergio Romero; Pablo Zabaleta, Ezequiel Garay, Federico Fernandez, Marcos Rojo; Ever Banega, Lucas Biglia, Angel Di Maria; Rodrigo Palacio, Sergio Aguero, Ezequiel Lavezzi
