Last night’s other match between Colon and Atletico Rafaela was postponed eventually amid chaotic scenes. Rescheduled kickoff times and AFA rulings have made the situation pretty complicated but in a nut-shell the situation was as follows: Colon are in a financial mess and haven’t paid their players for some months, they promised to do so before the game yesterday and when that didn’t happen the players went on strike. After some discussion it appeared the AFA would reschedule it later but then that too didn’t happen. Now it is still unclear but Rafaela should be granted a 2-0 win and Colon docked a further 3 points, added to the 6 point deduction relating to unpaid transfer fees. All in all a collossal mess which needs working out.
