Marcelo Vidal celebrates the incredible winner for Independiente
Independiente’s superb run of form continued last night with a 1-0 win in Paraná over Patronato to put them in the top 3 for the first time this season. Omar de Felippe’s revival for El Rojo has been dramatic but last night they were indebted to an outrageous goal in the 88th minute. With the game heading for a goalless draw, Marcelo Vidal spotted the Patronato keeper off his line and hit a bullet of a shot from just inside his own half into the roof of the net. BANFIELD 4 – 2 UNION
Matias Almeyda’s, Banfield remain the only side in the Nacional B currently able to compete with Independiente’s run and yesterday they won again to remain top of the table. Almeyda won promotion with River Plate in 2012 and looks on course to repeat the feat with Banfield. Yesterday’s 4-2 win against Union puts them 4 points clear at the top of the table.
