An Avellaneda Clasico can never really be considered a “friendly” and last night Racing Club were able to firmly take the bragging rights away from Mar Del Plata. A crushing 3-0 victory was further ammunition for Racing’s fans who already need no invitation to remind their bitter rivals of the fact that they are playing in the Nacional B. A nightmare opening 5 minutes for El Rojo virtually ended the game as a contest. Gabriel Hauche’s improvised overhead kick after just a minute gave Racing the lead and minutes later a rash challenge from Morel Rodriguez prompted Pablo Lunati to brandish a straight red card. After half an hour the lead was doubled via Sebastian Saja’s spot kick and before the break Valentín Viola headed an insurmountable third. The second half was a non-event but Racing will be reveling in their victory regardless.
