River Plate may have a new folk hero as reserve keeper, Leandro Chichizola saved a last minute penalty to ensure River held on to their 3-2 lead against Racing Club. The crucial victory meant River joined Gimnasia back at the top, after the leaders were held to a goalless draw by Lanús. Arsenal continued their revival under new boss, Martin Palermo with a 3-2 win over Newell’s Old Boys. Despite blowing an early two-goal lead a late Emilio Zelaya goal stole all the points. Finally on Sunday, Boca Juniors ended All Boys fight against relegation with a 3-1 win in Floresta. Even without Juan Román Riquelme, Boca were too strong for All Boys, who know now that they will join Argentinos Juniors in the Nacional B.
