Could San Lorenzo go all the way in the Copa Libertadores?

Two of Argentina’s remaining sides in this year’s Copa Libertadores played their first legs on Wednesday night with mixed results. San Lorenzo once again performed admirably in El Nuevo Gasómetro to defeat Cruzeiro, the sole Brazilian representatives left in the competition. Santiago Gentiletti’s second half header was the only goal and means San Lorenzo head to Belo Horizonte next week defending a slender lead. Earlier, Arsenal de Sarandí travelled to Paraguay to face Nacional and were on the end of a 1-0 defeat in what was a pretty open Quarter Final. Arsenal keeper, Cristian Campestrini will be disappointed, after stopping a first half Silvio Torales penalty, only to be cheaply beaten by Derlis Orué’s low strike. Still, with only a goal between the sides both ties are very much alive ahead of their return legs. WATCH THE GOALS….

Nacional  1 – 0  Arsenal de Sarandí

San Lorenzo  1 – 0  Cruzeiro
