It has been made clear that Éver Banega no longer has a future at Valencia but his future is far less certain. Banega spent the Torneo Final on loan with his local club, Newell’s Old Boys and it is understood he wants to return. However, Valencia will not negotiate another loan and so offers from AC Milan and Dnipro are being evaluated.
Banega has a year left on his current deal and new boss, Nuno Espírito Santo has indicated that the 26-year-old midfielder is not part of his plans.
With just one year remaining, it is understandable why a loan deal is no longer on the table and despite Banega’s desire to return to Rosario, Newell’s will be unable to offer the amount desired.
Ukrainian club, Dnipro have already had an approach rebuffed and although AC Milan’s initial bid was also rejected, an improved second offer is now under consideration.
A move to Italy may well be a good move for Banega after the disappointment of being dropped from Alejandro Sabella’s 23-man World Cup squad. The 26-year-old remains a talented midfielder but has seen his career falter recently.
