While Frank Lampard’s 6-month-deal to Manchester City might have already generated several column inches in the UK, it also looks set to impact City’s recent Argentine acquisition, Bruno Zuculini. Increased competition for places in central midfield will probably see the 21-year-old going out on loan with Valencia at the front of the queue.
Manuel Pellegrini has not decided what to do with Zuculini yet but will be mindful of the possibility of the Racing youth product not getting enough playing time. Certainly a productive loan deal would be beneficial to the player’s development at this stage.
Spanish newspaper, Marca is reporting that Valencia have had contact with the player and his agent over a potential loan move and it will now be down to City to approve this.
Deportivo La Coruna have also been attributed with an interest in Zuculini having just gained promotion back to the Spanish top flight.
A move to Valencia would see Zuculini immediately reunited with former Racing teammate, Rodrigo de Paul who also left Avellaneda this window. De Paul impressed for his new club over the weekend in the Emirates Cup and it will be interesting to see how these two Racing Club graduates progress this season.
