Saturday’s matches served as a reminder to how bad the Argentine Primera can be as the three games played yielded just one solitary goal. Estudiantes and Gimnasia met once again for the third clásico Platense in two weeks and again it was one to forget. Gimnasia were perhaps improved from the Copa Sudamericana defeat but were still unable to find a breakthrough and the game ended goalless. Olimpo managed to grab their second win of the season with a 1-0 win over Belgrano in Bahía Blanca. Agustín Vuletich’s scrappy goal proved decisive before Belgrano’s Jorge Velázquez was sent off for an elbow. Finally, Vélez‘s slump continued as they were held to a goalless draw in Liniers by Atlético Rafaela. Things might have been worse had Lucas Albertengo not missed a first half penalty for the visitors.
