Messi Vs Ronaldo as Argentina face Portugal in Manchester

Barcelona's Lionel Messi

Argentina are set to play Portugal in a friendly during November’s international break and Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium will host what is already being billed as Messi Vs Ronaldo. AFA are yet to confirm the fixture but it is expected to be played on November 18th.

The competition between the world’s best two players is something that always attracts a huge global audience and this will undoubtedly crossed the minds of the organisers when scheduling this latest friendly.

Besides the clash between Messi and Ronaldo, the match will also give the Manchester United fans to see their very own, Ángel Di María and Marcos Rojo in international action.

However, there is only headline act. Messi and Ronaldo obviously lock horns on a number of occasions every season when Barcelona meet Real Madrid but they have only played against each other once internationally.

That took place in Geneva in 2011 with both players on target but Messi’s late penalty proving decisive as Argentina claimed a 2-1 win.

Argentina will be looking for another friendly in the November international break and there are some reports that it could be José Peckerman’s Colombia.
