San Lorenzo joined the four other sides that have won both matches so far at the top of the table after a 2-1 victory over Defensa y Justicia in Florencio Varela. Despite falling behind after just 28 seconds to Ciro Rius’ tap-in, El Ciclón struck back midway through the first half when summer signing, Franco Mussis powerfully fired past Gabriel Arias. The game remained fairly balanced but was decided 13 minutes after the break. Arias failed to hold another of Mussis’ stinging shots and the rebound fell to Martín Cauteruccio, who made no mistake in burying the chance and giving Edgardo Bauza’s side a good away win.
Earlier, Lanús will perhaps feel a little disappointed to have only earned a point from their clash with Belgrano in La Forteleza. The home side hit the framework three times but failed to make the important breakthrough allowing Belgrano to pick up what will be a valuable point. Not many teams will leave Lanús with anything this season and so following their opening weekend victory it has been a successful start to 2015 for Belgrano.
