A reversal of fortunes has occurred between Belgrano and Gimnasia and last night in Córdoba, it was El Lobo that extended their unbeaten run while the home side suffered back-to-back defeats having previously gone seven without defeat. That does not quite tell the whole story as Ricardo Zielinski’s Belgrano side will be wondering how they came away with nothing but an inspired performance from Gimnasia keeper Nicolás Navarro kept them at bay. Ultimately Jorge Rojas’ goal 73rd minute goal proved decisive and gave Pedro Troglio’s side an excellent three points and sees them continue to climb up the table.
Nueva Chicago continue to find things in the Primera difficult and at least in theory a home fixture against Temperley should have been one which was viewed as winnable. Mauricio Arias’ first half sending off made this even more complicated and eventually the visitors were able to take advantage. Javier Grbec fired Temperley in front with a little over fifteen minutes remaining and as Chicago pushed for an equaliser in stoppage time Gustavo Aprile broke from his own half and fired into an empty net. El Torito remain winless and firmly in relegation trouble with no sign of improvement.
In Junín, Argentinos Juniors set-up with the purpose not to lose rather than go for the win and it proved successful. Sarmiento were unable to break down their visitors and they shared the points as it ended goalless.
