Despite playing in Brazil on Thursday night such is Rosario Central’s home record under Eduardo Coudet that with the visit of Banfield to the Gigante de Arroyito, three points were still expected. Even after Gonzalo Bettini put the visitors in front after seven minutes, a comeback from the Primera’s form side appeared most likely and although El Canalla were unable to find a breakthrough during the first half, it took only minutes after the restart. Alejandro Donatti headed the home side level and when Damian Musto curled in a superb strike from outside the penalty area, normal service appeared resumed. However, Banfield youngster Claudio Villagra thumped in a late equaliser from distance to earn his side a valuable point. Central remain top of Zona 1 but were unable to extend their lead after San Lorenzo’s draw earlier in the weekend.
In Mar del Plata, Aldosivi put an end to their run of two consecutive defeats but were unable to take all three points from Temperley’s visit after Federico Crivelli’s penalty save denied them. Back from injury, Pablo Lugüercio gave El Tiburón an early lead but Marcos Figueroa immediately replied for the visitors with a well placed finish. Gastón Díaz had the opportunity to seal victory from the penalty spot in the second half but Crivelli guessed correctly and turned his spot kick around the post.
