Atlético Rafaela hadn’t won since an own-goal on the opening weekend gave them a 1-0 win away to Huracán but on Friday evening in the Nuevo Monumental, Juan Manuel Llop’s side claimed a deserved 3-1 win over Patronato. Despite falling behind after only five minutes to a Sebastián Bértoli penalty, the home side continued to push forward but needed to wait until a minute after half time to find an equaliser. Federico Anselmo tucked away a penalty of his own to level the match and from there La Crema looked the more likely winners. Anselmo scored his second with a smart close range finish and Ignacio Pussetto slotted in a third to ensure victory.
Argentinos Juniors’ bad luck continued on Friday in Liniers as it appeared they were heading for a third consecutive draw only for Lautaro Gianetti to head a 90th minute winner for Vélez Sarsfield. It’s a welcome win for El Fortín after last weekend’s defeat to Independiente but Los Bichos remain in deep trouble. Still without a win all season, Argentinos Juniors sit bottom of the descenso and look sure candidates for relegation.
In Bahía Blanca, Olimpo earned a first win in five with a 2-1 victory over Aldosivi. After a dull opening 45 minutes, Gabriel Lugo bundled in the opening goal for the home side in the 50th minute and when Franco Troyansky doubled the lead with a little over ten minutes remaining, the result looked beyond doubt. However, a minute later Juan Dinenno poked the ball past Nereo Champagne to narrow the lead and set up a nervy finish to the game. Unable to find an equaliser, Olimpo held on for all three points and a third home win of the season.
Atlético Rafaela 3 – 1 Patronato
Vélez Sarsfield 1 – 0 Argentinos Juniors
Olimpo 2 – 1 Aldosivi
