Huracán produced an excellent performance against Copa Libertadores number one seeds, Atlético Nacional on Tuesday night in Parque Patricios but were unable to take a lead to Medellín. The Colombian side are yet to concede a goal in this year’s competition but for the second time, El Globo were able to prevent them from scoring and earn a goalless draw.
The draw perhaps makes Atlético favourites now to progress but Huracán have proved just how difficult a side they can be to face in their last two encounters. Ramón Ábila ensured the visitors defence had an awkward evening in the Ducó while Eduardo Domínguez’s back line performed admirably to keep a clean sheet.
A quarter final clash against either Grêmio or Rosario Central awaits the winners of this tie and although most will now be tipping Atlético to secure their place, Huracán have revelled in their underdog status over the past year. An away goal in Medellín would make things very interesting and El Globo certainly have the players to cause an upset.
