Argentinos Juniors are far from safe and it is was only a Boca Juniors reserve side but Carlos Bueno’s second half goal have Los Bichos a first win of the season and moved them off the foot of the descenso table. Guillermo Barros Schelotto opted to rest almost his entire first choice eleven ahead of their Copa Libertadores match this week but against an Argentinos Juniors side desperate for three points, the visitors found themselves under increasing pressure. After creating a couple of decent opportunities, Los Bichos eventually took the lead when Carlos Bueno swept in his first for the club on the hour mark. Nicolás Freire’s late red card led to a nervy ending but the home side held on for what could be an invaluable victory.

In Parque Patricios, Roger Martínez gave Racing a 1-0 win over Huracán before dominating even more of the headlines with an awful challenge that earned the Colombian a red card. Neither side were particularly focused on this Primera clash given their Libertadores commitments but La Academia did just enough to take all three points.

San Martín managed to hold on a point in Florencio Varela but Defensa y Justicia will rue the number of chances that they missed over the course of the 90 minutes. A second consecutive goalless draw for El Halcón but Ariel Holán will be wondering how his side didn’t manage to find the net on Saturday evening.

Huracán  0 – 1  Racing Club

Defensa y Justicia  0 – 0   San Martín

Argentinos Juniors  1 – 0  Boca Juniors
