Patronato drew to a close a successful first season in the Primera, in Paraná at least, with a victory against Olimpo. Matías Quiroga’s scrappy goal in first half stoppage gave the home side a deserved lead and proved to be the match winner. The visitors had Leandro Lacunza sent off with ten minutes remaining and Patronato celebrated another three points from their final home fixture. Avoiding relegation was always the target for Patronato and they have achieved this comfortably but Rubén Forestello will know his side must improve on their travels next season. Next weekend’s trip to Vélez provides a last opportunity to win away in the Transición.
Finally, Vélez Sarsfield claimed a point from their trip to face Banfield despite seeing Damián Pérez sent off in the second half. The home side enjoyed the majority of possession and the better of the chances but were once more unable to convert that into victory.
